Piazza Navona kann gleich mit drei wunderschönen Brunnen auftrumpfen. Die zwei älteren sind der Neptunbrunnen im Norden und der Mohrenbrunnen im Süden der Piazza. Beide stammen von Giacomo della Porta. Als Gian Lorenzo Bernini den Vierströmebrunnen mit dem Obelisken in der Mitte des Platzes errichtete, gestaltete er auch die beiden älteren.
